FIRE y WATER

In 2012, Christian Marclay (born 1955) was invited to participate in Mixed Bathing World, an international contemporary arts festiva l in the port town of Beppu, Japan. Along the length of the pier jutting out into Beppu´s harbor, Marclay installed 100 banners to w hich 100 differently tuned bells were attached. The sound of their collective resonance is documented on a CD in this volume, which also includes color reproductions of the installation and commentary.
