Gods, heroes, nymphs, satyrs and maenads are the protagonists of classical mythology and, at the same time, an important source of inspiration for artists.

This exhibition brings together a careful selection of works that are part of the collections of the Museo Nacional del Prado. Through paintings, sculptures and medals - dated between the 1st century BC. C. and the end of the 18th century- offers a broad view of classical mythology and its representation throughout the history of art.

The exhibition relates different representations of the same god or myth and is structured around eight themes such as "The gods of Olympus", "Love, desire and passion", "Divine and human metamorphoses" and "Heroes", among others.
